The Wilkes Soil & Water Conservation District expects to receive its cost share allocation from the state for non-point source pollution control from agricultural activities. These funds are available to assist landowners for the installation of conservation practices, which help decrease the amount of pollutants in our surface and ground waters. The district expects to receive approximately $90,000.00 for the program year 2019. Landowners and practices such as pasture management systems, erosion control systems, animal waste management systems, and many more. We will send a member of the staff to visit your farm and discuss solutions for protecting nearby streams, rivers and lakes in the Yadkin River Basin.
