The Wilkes Soil & Water Conservation District expects to receive it's cost share allocation from the state for non-point source pollution control from agricultural activities. These funds are available to assist landowners for the installation of conservation practices, which help decrease the amount of sediment, nitrogen, phosphorus, chemicals, animal waste, and other pollutants in our surface and ground waters.
Landowners and operators may apply for cost share assistance to install conservation practices such as pasture management systems, erosion control systems, animal waste management systems, and many more. If you want information or wish to apply, call the District office at 336-838-3622 x3. A staff member may visit your farm and discuss solutions for protecting nearby streams, rivers, and lakes in the Yadkin River Basin.
