Registration is now closed.
Our theme for 2023-2024 is "The Living Soil". All resources will be released by October 6, after the Field Days are completed.

Example Lessons and Resources
For an example of, basic Soils intro lesson for elementary students click here. This lesson has been correlated to K-4th NC Essential Science Standards and has hands-on parts that can be added based on each grade and classroom needs.
For an example resource that can be used with the NC Science Olympiad Backyard Biologist Program, check out this field guide that includes tree IDs, the structures and functions of plants, important vocabulary, basic soil concepts, reptiles, and amphibians.
